Gotta love remodeling....and my boys

This is just another reason that I have not posted in a few days...We are finally moving forward with our remodeling. The installation of our new hardwood floors started today. We are getting new granite counter tops and a new undermount sink too! For now we are keeping the cabinets... So my wonderful husband and been working like crazy for days to get the kitchen ready for the new floors. So I have things stuck in bins all over the house and no kitchen to cook in :(
I am glad our Easter here is not until next weekend....my Dad is coming Saturday for dinner, but we will BBQ.
Even though things are crazy right now, I know I will love it when it it is done :)
Now if I could just pick my paint colors!

Today I attended Matthew's field trip to the zoo, it was a beautiful sunny day, but very cold. When I was getting ready to leave this morning, Michael was upset( he is velcro to his Mommy). He wanted to know why I had to go with Matthew. I explained that I had to do things with both Matthew & him, that they each get their own days with Mommy. Michael said, "Mommy, don't you know that I am special, have you seen my "palace"? He pointed to his mouth, and then said "Matthew is special too, because of his "palace". Matthew's "palace" is actually Matthew's cleft lip and palate. I just thought that this was such a sweet and innocent thing to say. In the last few months, Matthew has started to ask more questions about his cleft, and we have always told him that God made him special.....

I had a wonderful time on the field trip with Matthew, he is such a good boy and love his school and friends. We had fun looking for ocean animals that relate to Matthew's diorama assignment, due on Thursday. We finished it tonight and it turned out really cool! (I will post a picture later). We are now in "full swing" baseball season, both boys are playing, Matthew is on two teams, and Michael just one. So that is where you will find me for the next couple of months.
I hope everyone is having a great week!
*I will be updating tomorrow too, my friend Lucy had her precious baby boy...he and Mom are both healthy-still waiting for his "stats".
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I participate in "Pray for Me... Pray for Others" on the Riggs Family Blog. Check out their blog to add your prayer request. Wednesday(I am a day late) is now known as "Pray for me...Pray for others" on the Riggs blog - and they want blog authors to post their prayer request and then post a prayer request that they have for another person/family/situation.

Wordless Wednesday

A Trip to the Bunny Hutch with friends.....

March 31, 2009

Yes, I am alive :)

Sorry I have been lacking in my posts :( We have so much going on around here. I was sick, finally got over it.... We went to the zoo on Friday for a behind the scenes tour with my friend Natalie, her husband Brent, the triplets and their friends from Tampa, Vanessa, Steve & Isabella. Then we had Michael's birthday party over the weekend and another friends birthday party. Plus we went to dinner with PaPa & Penny to celebrate Michael's' birthday. Then started the week with baseball practices and we are getting ready for our school's big auction, which keeps us very busy this time of the year.
Dave & I will be celebrating our 10 year in May and are trying to figure out what we are going to do. We would love to do a short trip, but a few things are causing us to hesitate. We have never left the boys before, I know that is crazy, but we are lacking in family to keep them, so it get tough. So we would like to do just do a few days and want to make sure it is worth the travel time. Also, the economy is not great, so we have to be smart about it.
I am behind on blog comments, but have been catching up on my reading. I miss it, but have to sleep too :)
I am so excited for my friend Lucy, she will be holding her precious baby boy in her arms on Thursday. She is being induced and could use our prayers, for a wonderful labor experience.
Even when life gets this busy, I try to remember how blessed I am! Here are some pictures to catch you up......

Happy Birthday Michael!

I can hardly believe that my "baby" is 4!!!
It seems like just yesterday, that I was on the way to the hospital to be induced, with my sweet Michael. I had a very easy labor, I was induced two weeks early at 4:30pm on March 23rd, and delivered Michael Daniel weighing 5lbs 9 oz at 7:19 PM. Michael was such a good baby he nursed until he was 18 months old. He was a good sleeper until he turned two.... :) He is my "spirited child". He has such a big heart, but likes to "march to the beat of his own drum".... Michael is the one that makes my Dad's eyes twinkle, he just laughs when I tell him the latest thing that Michael has done. Apparently, I am getting a taste of how I was.(Hard to believe, I know :) )
We had dinner & celebrated at Red Robin with my Dad last night and with cake and presents.
He got so many fun things, Wii games and new books.
I bought him a new pillow..... a couple of months ago, I bought a new pillow for myself, and he has been nuts about it, So I decided to get him his own. Matthew got him a Pokemon DS game. Daddy got him the hamburger slider cooker, which he has been wanting for months! He also got Bolt and a new DVD player of his own, it is portable and "kid tough".
His actual family/friend party will be on Saturday, we are having it at a local soccer club and Michael is counting down the days!
Michael you will ALWAYS be my baby! Happy 4th Birthday "Twinks"!
We love you!
Love,
Mommy

Thank you God for the gift of my sweet Michael, please watch over him as he grows and keep him healthy and safe, always!

"I pray that the Lordwill bless you . . .as long as you live."

Our Spring Break.....

I am back....well sort of :) We had a great Spring Break and I am gearing up for Michael's Birthday tomorrow and all kinds of stuff this week....Hoping I will still have some "blogging time".
We spent Spring Break at Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City(an indoor water park), with our friends, Dave, Kristin, Josh, Caleb & Briana. We had a blast! We swam and went on the the slides over and over again! We went one night to the T-Rex Cafe, the kids loved it! The weather was BEAUTIFUL while we were there, so at night we were able to be outside and enjoy it! On St. Patty's Day, we ate outside at a place called The Yard House, the food was excellent! Then we did a little shopping at the Legends, we came back to the lodge with some yummy caramel apples from Rocky Mountain Factory. Then played some games at the arcade. We also enjoyed the pj story time at the Lodge one night with some yummy ice cream! The boys also played mini-golf. Kristin and I even got to go to the gym one morning :) We had such a great time, with wonderful friends, and are looking forward to the next trip.....

After we came home, I got a bad virus! So I have been sick since Wed night :(
Finally feeling a little better Saturday and today and hoping it is going to skip the rest of the family! We went to dinner last night and then to our friends Cathie & Fred's wedding today. I am up late baking Michaels' birthday cake and wrapping gifts......and of course typing this post :)
So good night for now.........
