What's up.......

Matthew's Game
Michael's Game

Our school auction-80' theme

I am so far behind in my blogging :( Things are winding down here for the end of the school year. May is so crazy, my birthday is next week, we are going away for a few days for our 10 year anniversary(1st time), we have several school events and our friends & parents are throwing us a 10 year anniversary party. Not to mention, baseball game mania.....

Our weather here was beautiful this weekend, almost hot. Our allergies are going crazy! Poor Michael has an ear infection, we went all winter without him seeing the Dr. and now it is the end of April, and he needs an antibiotic.
I will be watching my friends two girls until the end of May. Katie and Michael love each other, but fight like brother & sister. Sophie is a really good baby (17 months).
I made it through the 1 year anniversary of Mom's death. Natalie took me to lunch, two sweet friends sent me flowers and I had dinner that night with by brother. I was worried about my Dad, but he is doing great! I know that it is because of his incredibly strong faith!
Strange the boys had been mentioning Mom a little less, but this week Michael had brought it up several times.....
Our school auction was Friday night, the theme was 80's, we had a blast! I feel so thankful to have Matthew( and soon Michael) in a school where he learns about God and where we are surrounded by wonderful kids and parents.
Remodeling is coming along, our counter tops are in , the floors are done, our new stainless appliances will be in this week :) (Pictures to come...) Now I just need to pick a paint color! I am driving David nuts, it is so hard to find the "right" color!!!

I hope to be able to keep updating on a more regular basis :)
Happy Monday!!!!!!!!!

Wish you Were here....

Wish You Were Here.....
I wanted to tell you how closely I've kept
The memories of you in my heart
And all of the lifetimes that we've had to share
Live even though we're apart
But don't cry for me'
Cause I'm finally free
To run with the angels
On streets made of goldTo listen to stories of saints new and old
To worship our Maker
That's where I'll be
When you finally find me
No don't you be weary cause waiting for you
Are wonders that you've never known
Just hold on to Jesus, reach out for
His hands
And one day they'll welcome you home
And that's when you'll be
Finally free
Finally free
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
And all of the dreams that you treasure
Will soon come together
And that's when your sorrow will find tomorrow
And you will rise again
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here

As I write this, I find it so hard to believe that my Mom has been gone for 1 year....In some ways it seems just like yesterday and in others like a lifetime ago. To say that I miss her, well that would be an understatement. She was not only MY Mom, she was one of the BEST moms ever! Even though I am SO sad that my Mom did not have more time here on earth with me(us)(especially my boys), I feel so blessed knowing that she is heaven! It would be selfish of me to wish that she could be here, when she was in so much pain and now she is free.....I am so thankful for the 34 3/4 years I was able to spend with my Mom!
Happy 1 year in heaven Mom & Grammy!
We all miss you so much and will see you again someday....

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Gavin & Griffin(my Godsons)

My Dad & Matthew

I cannot believe April is almost over! We are so busy right now and I am hoping that things will slow down, "someday". We had a wonderful Easter last weekend with Dave's family and this weekend with mine. Both boys started baseball this weekend, Matthew is playing on two teams and Michael is playing on one. Matthew won both games and Michael won his also :) They were so excited and I love watching them do well at something they enjoy so much!
This is a crazy week(again), our schools auction is coming up and we are finishing more things up around here with the remodel. I am also babysitting for a friend for a few weeks, she has two little girls, Katie & Sophia(I will be getting a "girl-fix".)
I also got my new camera this week the Canon Rebel-very excited, but so much to learn!!!!

I Will Rise.....
By Chris Tomlin

There's a peace I've come to know

Though my heart and flesh may fail

There's an anchor for my soul

I can say "It is well"
Jesus has overcome

And the grave is overwhelmed

The victory is won

He is risen from the dead

[Chorus:]

And I will rise when He calls my name

No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagles' wings

Before my God fall on my knees

And rise I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near

When this darkness breaks to light

And the shadows disappear

And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome

And the grave is overwhelmed

The victory is won He is risen from the dead

[Chorus:]

And I will rise when He calls my name

No more sorrow, no more pain I will rise on eagles' wings

Before my God fall on my knees

And rise I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,

"Worthy is the Lamb"

And I hear the cry of every longing heart,

"Worthy is the Lamb" [x2]

[Chorus:]

And I will rise when

He calls my name

No more sorrow, no more pain

I will rise on eagles' wings

Before my God fall on my knees

And rise I will rise

A "Home Run" day.......

We had a great Thursday... A friend of mine invited Michael and I to the baseball game. Even though it rained, we had a great time! We had "chips & cheese", dippin'dots, cotton candy and more... He played in the children's club and got to throw and hit baseballs. He was so excited! I had great time hanging out with my little guy :) (It was fun hanging out with good friends too!)

Matthew finished his diorama project on the Ocean this week. He presented it yesterday and was so excited! It turned out great. We are glad it is finished and now we have a 4 day weekend off of school! YAY!

Since my kitchen is not back yet, we still are eating out...So our friends Kristin & Dave offered to watch the boys for a few hours last night, and Dave and I got to enjoy a dinner out and ALONE :) We went to this cute place close to home, had great food and awesome martinis! It was so much fun...Thanks guys, we owe you a night out now......
I hope to post again before Easter, if I don't get the chance, I hope all of you have a blessed & Happy Easter!
I know how grateful I am that God gave us his son Jesus, and that he died on the cross for our/my sins!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...

Pray for me...Pray for others

I participate in "Pray for Me... Pray for Others" on the Riggs Family Blog. Check out their blog to add your prayer request. Wednesday is now known as "Pray for me...Pray for others" on the Riggs blog - and they want blog authors to post their prayer request and then post a prayer request that they have for another person/family/situation.

Pray for Me
That I survive the rest of our remodeling :)

Pray for Others

My friend Jessica is going to be induced tomorrow, so we can finally meet Charlie, praying for a safe and wonderful delivery!

Angela from "Bring the Rain" is facing the anniversary of the loss of her precious baby Audrey, pray for her and her to have some peace.
Alan the husband of our school principal, received his liver transplant, now we praying for his recovery.
Our friends from church/school Joe & Cindy, his Mom has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Praying for successful treatment!

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him

Gotta love remodeling....and my boys

This is just another reason that I have not posted in a few days...We are finally moving forward with our remodeling. The installation of our new hardwood floors started today. We are getting new granite counter tops and a new undermount sink too! For now we are keeping the cabinets... So my wonderful husband and been working like crazy for days to get the kitchen ready for the new floors. So I have things stuck in bins all over the house and no kitchen to cook in :(
I am glad our Easter here is not until next weekend....my Dad is coming Saturday for dinner, but we will BBQ.
Even though things are crazy right now, I know I will love it when it it is done :)
Now if I could just pick my paint colors!

Today I attended Matthew's field trip to the zoo, it was a beautiful sunny day, but very cold. When I was getting ready to leave this morning, Michael was upset( he is velcro to his Mommy). He wanted to know why I had to go with Matthew. I explained that I had to do things with both Matthew & him, that they each get their own days with Mommy. Michael said, "Mommy, don't you know that I am special, have you seen my "palace"? He pointed to his mouth, and then said "Matthew is special too, because of his "palace". Matthew's "palace" is actually Matthew's cleft lip and palate. I just thought that this was such a sweet and innocent thing to say. In the last few months, Matthew has started to ask more questions about his cleft, and we have always told him that God made him special.....

I had a wonderful time on the field trip with Matthew, he is such a good boy and love his school and friends. We had fun looking for ocean animals that relate to Matthew's diorama assignment, due on Thursday. We finished it tonight and it turned out really cool! (I will post a picture later). We are now in "full swing" baseball season, both boys are playing, Matthew is on two teams, and Michael just one. So that is where you will find me for the next couple of months.
I hope everyone is having a great week!
*I will be updating tomorrow too, my friend Lucy had her precious baby boy...he and Mom are both healthy-still waiting for his "stats".
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
