38 years......

Today, is the day that my parents would have celebrated 38 years. Most of you know, that my Mom passed away in April of last year, I still wanted to acknowledge their special day. I am so proud of my parents, for so many different reasons, but especially for being married for 37 years. Marriage takes a lot of faith, hard work and dedication!
Love you and thinking of you today Dad........
Nevertheless, also, let each one of YOU individually so love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.

Here comes the Bride....

On Friday night, we had our 1st grade moms "happy hour(s)". This time we had a reason to celebrate...My good friend Cathie, is getting married later on this month to a wonderful guy, Fred. Cathie's son Antonio is one of Matthew's closest friends. We decided to surprise Cathie, she thought it was "just a happy hour". I really think we surprised her, she showed up, about 40 minutes late and seemed shocked! We had collected money and purchased all kinds of fun things. We enjoyed a great evening of martinis, food and friends. The only thing that went wrong, was our friend Tricia, got sick while we were there. Her son Ryan had just survived the flu and had passed it on to her. Luckily, our friend Denise who is pregnant, was able to drive her home.
CONGRATULATIONS Cathie, I wish you only the best....ALWAYS!!!

It's "crazy".........

On Sunday we had our schools Mother & Son Crazy Bowl. It was our 1st grade class event, so I was in charge of it. Dave & I made some cute trophy's for each winner from each age category. We also had Hershey bars with cute wrappers that I ordered for favors.

I was blessed to have good friends, help me with the check-in and score tallying, so that I was able to spend some time with my sweet-bowling boys.....
Thanks Denise, Bev, Susan & Diane, you guys are awesome!
No, we did not come home with one of our cute trophy's, (which both boys were pretty sad about), but we had a great time, with some of the best boys & Moms that I know :)
Happy Monday!

The best day ever......

Matthew had an ENT appointment this morning, so I made plans to take him back to school after lunch, and made arrangements for Michael to have a play date, while Matthew & I had a long overdue lunch date.
Matthew is a "rule follower" and a "people pleaser", so he was excited, but also very worried about missing school, and his work, etc. He must have asked me a million times, what time it was....We decided to go here, Matthew had never been, and I used to work here, for a different owner, many years ago. Matthew has been "picky" for years and had just recently started eating so much more..... Matthew was so excited to try somewhere new and to be out to lunch with just Mom and him.

We ordered several things....Matthew had Udon noddles and I had a grilled chicken sandwich with an "Asian flair", we also shared sweet potato fries and sticky rice. Poor Matthew had a constant runny nose from the spice, but he was loving it! We had a nice lunch and skipped to the car to head back to school. Matthew said" Mommy this was the best day ever in my life". A few seconds later he said "Do you know why it was the best day ever Mom? It was because I got to spend it with you." "I can see my friends any time, but I can't always spend the day with you."
While I was quietly "sniffling" (I am sure you understand), I told him that it was one of my best days too, but that the best day with him for me, was the day that he was born :)
I realized today that it really is impotant to give each of our kids one on one time. Michael gets it so much more with me, because he is not in school yet, but for Matthew and I, it had been too long! I am looking forward to my next "date", with the sweetest 7 year boy that old I know!
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.
