Matthew was invited to his second (would be 1st "real") sleepover at his friend from school, Tyler's house with their friend Christopher staying too. He has only spent the night one other place ever, and that was his "Aunt Natalie's"( over the summer). His last try was at his friend Josh's house and he only made it to 9:00.
Sooo I dropped him off with his dinosaur pillow, Pokemon sleeping bag & Pokemon suitcase full of things "guaranteed" to help him make it through the night...I was beginning to think that we had officially made it through the "going to sleep" part of the sleepover, when the phone rang at 10:20, and my friend Bev, said that Matthew wanted to talk to me, about deciding if he was going to stay or leave. I asked him how he was doing. He answered quietly, "okay". Then he said, "Mommy, I tried, but can you come get me?" I asked him if he was sure, and told him that the other kids were going to stay and be going to sleep, and that it was late, but he said he was ready to come home. So I got in the car and headed over to pick him up...it was "only" 12 hours earlier than I had planned....

Thanks Bev for trying......Maybe next time?

Tyler & Chris

Packed and ready???

Asleep, just 5 minutes after I picked him up......

*UPDATE...Christopher did not make it either ;)

Wonderful Wednesday...

Just wanted to say how happy I am for my friend Lucy, her husband George and their precious daughter Magnolia. Not only is her pregnancy going very well so far, but they also found out that they are having a BOY!!!!
I am so excited for them and so happy that Lucy's pregnancy is going so well!
I will still be praying, and hope that all of you will be doing the same!
God is Good!
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun....

(*make sure you scroll down and pause the music on my blog, before watching the video)

So this weekend was our 1st Moms-1st annual shopping trip. There were six of us who went. Bev, Kristin, Yvonne, Sahar, Cathie & Me :) We took TWO suburbans and left Saturday at 7:00AM. After a Starbucks run, we were on the road. We met at the Outlet Mall and shopped like CRAZY! It was a cool and crisp day. I got Webkinz for the boys, a headband from J Crew for me(the only thing for me)....I also got a gingerbread pancake mix from Harry & David and some new shoes for Matthew from the Bass store(really cute). We hit the jackpot at Children's Place, deals and more deals. They had $1.99,$2.99 & up deals for everyone! We also bought carmel apples for the kids.

We headed to the condo to get ready for dinner. We played beauty shop(Thanks Sahar), and painted nails, took showers and ate some snacks. After we had the fashion show, we left for dinner. We had a nice dinner at Andre's, splurging for Lobster & Steak, with a nice glass of wine :) At this point Sahar & Cathie started feeling sick... :( Sahar ended up with a stomach bug and Cathie with bronchitis. We went back to the condo after dinner , played a game of Catch Phrase, and crashed!

We slept in a little on Sunday, taking our time, enjoying some coffee, before heading to breakfast. The we hit the Mega Marshalls store for over 2 hours!!! We had FULL carts, ALL of us. We loaded up the cars and headed back home about 2:30.

It was a really great weekend, with friendships and memories made to last!

I really missed my boys(all 3 of them), but it was nice to have a day away. Daddy did a great job, with soccer and all of the other weekend things to do.... :)

Until our next trip.........

Let's catch-up :)

I am finally feeling a little bit better, but now the boys are starting with it. Apparently this "cold" is hanging around for a long time :(
We have had a beautiful week of fall weather here and the leaves are just beautiful! I love this time of the year... I cannot believe that Christmas is ONLY 48 days away(check out my new countdown timer). I guess this year, I am finding it hard to get in the "mood", probably for a few reasons...The economy is so bad, I am just nervous to even start shopping! Then there is the "first" holidays without my Mom...I am just not "motivated". I know that the boys will be so much fun, I guess it is just getting to the day that seems so hard.....Especially on days like today when Matthew talks about his Grammy and missing her at Christmas and how she gave the best presents ever and will always be the Grandma he ever knew.....
These are from Matthew's Halloween Party at school it was LOTS of fun!
These are pictures from Halloween night at my friend Natalie's. We had two different kinds of chili, hot wing dip and lots more! Michael only went trick or treating to 4 houses, then he was done. I know part of it was he was not feeling well, but he did have more fun handing the candy out :) Matthew had blast, he came back with a FULL bag of loot! The triplets were the three little pigs, and way too cute! I had so much fun feeding them LOTS of candy, and watching them "fly around the house". Our friend Jessica came over too, she is pregnant with her first baby, it is a boy, we are so excited for her!

We went to Thomas the Train on Saturday with our friends, Matt, Julie, Emma, Ellie & Matt. It was fun, but not what we were expecting. It was pretty dusty and dirty and probably not worth the $$. When Matthew was 3 we took him and he LOVED it! Michael seemed to just "like" it and Matt liked it too, but I think they had more fun coming back to our house for pizza, cookie & pumpkin cheesecake :)

Sunday we had an afternoon with the Scouts-a family trip to the park for a leaf hunt and more... It was a beautiful day to be outside and we all had a great time!
Now you know why, I never get well.....too much fun around here!
HA :)

Trick or Treat Thursday....

The boys and I went to Boo at The Zoo tonight with "Miss Jenny"(my friend and the boys 1st ever babysitter), her niece Sarah and nephew Jake. Dave was at the hockey game with a client, we missed him and he missed a great time! We had so much fun, there were scary tunnels, a funny show with live animals, sliding, rides on the carousel, fireside story time, snack and more..The boys wanted to wait and wear their costumes tomorrow night, so they asked if they could be soccer players? They looked so cute! was a beautiful day and night here and it is supposed to be the trend for the next few days....

We are gearing up for a fun night of Trick or Treating :) For the last week , it has been all about jokes...The boys are constantly saying them, trying to get ready for Halloween night. We even have one on our voice mail....It has been a lot of fun :)

Here are a few of "ours" :

Nacho cheese!
What is a mummy's favorite type of music?

Spare ribs.
What do ghosts serve for dessert?

What about you? Do you have any good ones?

We have another busy weekend ahead....Tomorrow there is a Halloween party, and we will trick or treat and have dinner at my friend Natalie's house. Saturday we actually have no soccer games, but are going to see Thomas the Train, plus we will "fall back", gaining an hour of sleep..(YES,we need it), but losing an hour of daylight :( Sunday will be filled with church, scouts, dinner with my dad, and teacher conferences. Hopefully I will have time to post an update :)

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Halloween with your families...

Wish you enough....Wednesday

I came across this email today in my "keepsakes", it was sent to me a few years ago from a friend whose mother had passed away the month before. This was the last email she sent to him, before she died.....

Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments
together at the airport. They had announced the departure.
Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said "I
love you. I wish you enough". The daughter replied, "Mom, our life
together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I
wish you enough, too, Mom". They kissed and the daughter left.
The mother walked over to the window where I was seated.
Standing there I could see she wanted and
needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed
me in by asking "Did you ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?".
"Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking but why is this a forever goodbye?".
"I am old and she lives so far away. I have
challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral" she said.
"When you were saying goodbye, I heard you say 'I wish you enough'.
"May I ask what that means?". She began to smile.... "That's a wish
that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to
say it to everyone". She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to
remember it in detail and she smiled even more."When we said 'I
wish you enough' we were wanting the other person to have a life
filled with just enough good things to sustain them".
Then turning toward me she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory:
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much
bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final goodbye
She then began to sob and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to
appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to
forget them.
Makes you think, doesn't it?
