Foto Friday continued....

Tonight we went to the Balloon Glow, the kids had a great time! We ran into some friends from school & church; Nathan, Susan, Olivia & Lexi-it was great to watch the kids play with each other and visit. We watched fireworks too :) Then we grabbed a funnel cake and some ice cream and headed to the car, which was a long walk... Glad we brought the wagon :)
Once again, the boys "crashed" on the way home....

Have a blessed weekend....

Beautiful

Our wonderful pastor

PaPa, Geema & Matthew

Today was Grandparents Day at school for Matthew, it is a wonderful time for some special bonding. There is a special breakfast of sweets & fruits served, and then the Grandparents visit the classrooms and work on a special project; with the kids, then they had a photo booth for pictures, the book fair and chapel. It lasts about 3 hours and everyone seems to eat it up :)

*Next year I am running this event...prayers will be needed,ha! :)

This year, Carol(Geema) my mother-n-law attended and so did Joe(Pa-Pa), my father-n-law. Missing, were my Dad(Grammpy), who had a tough week, Penny(SMIL)My step-mother-n-law, who works and of course my wonderful Mom(Grammy) who passed away in April.

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.

Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation.

25 Rules to live by...
(sent to me by a smart lady :) )

1.Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement ‘My purpose for today is: ________ '
4. Eat more foods that grow on plants, and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years,
will this matter?'
17. Forgive everyone for everything.
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. GOD heals almost everything. . . And He can heal everything if it's in His plan. We just need to trust His bigger picture.
20. However good or bad a situation is – it will change.
21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends
will. Stay in touch!!!
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:
'I am thankful for _____.' AND
'Today I accomplished_ _____.'
24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. Please share these with everyone you care about.

We love our coffee...

Since my blog is "new", I did not have the chance to post pictures from our wonderful summer vacation. So I will use Tuesdays for this for awhile :)
This was our day trip with Aunt Natalie, Jacob, Sophia & Liana to The Gardens for Nat's birthday. We played in the Children's Garden, did lots of walking, fed the fish, had a great lunch, and took LOTS of pictures :)

It was a great day!

In Loving Memory.....

Bette

April 6th, 1923-September 14th, 2008

I will miss my Grandmother(Granny). She had been suffering from Alzheimer's for at least the last 6 years, I have so many fond memories of her, especially from my childhood. From making cookies together, to family dinners, to the special cakes she always made me. We had so many traditions, Easter Egg hunts with the best dyed Easter Eggs(she used REAL dye), and Fireworks on the 4th of July with "finger jello", Turkey dinners, and Christmas Eve celebrations, with stockings and her red, green and white jello salad. As I reminisce, I realize all of the things she taught me and all of the memories that were made. I have carried so many of these on with own family.

I will miss you & I love you Granny Bets!

One of her favorite poems:
Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made. Our times are in his hand who saith, 'A whole I planned, youth shows but half; Trust God: See all, nor be afraid!'”

Robert Browning
